For our statistics investigations we have been looking at the size of our families compared with that of our grandparents families.
We collected the data by interviewing our parents and grandparents, collated the data which we displayed on tally graphs, displayed this in graphs and then interpreted our data.
Spot the mistake in the analysis
The information collected was very interesting. I believe the mistake in the analysis was that it said the average's had decimals, but you can't have 2 tenths or 4 tenths of a child. - ToNi :D
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Toni

Analyzing the data was very fun and interesting, I hope we do something like this again next term.
ReplyDeleteI think the mistake is when it said that the average number of children in our generation is 2.2 and in our grandparents generation it's 5.4 children, so thats shows that the average number of children has decreased by nearly half.
ReplyDeleteit has actually decreased by more than half. Nick
Spot on, Nick :)
DeleteMaths is very fun to learn. Also that statistical investigation was very interesting. I hope we do more of it next term.

I liked that the lessons were challenging and how we figured out the mean, mode, median and range of our families. FINLEY ('~')
